Today, Tuesday 18 November 2025, the MEloDIZER consortium held an online workshop dedicated to advanced Risk Assessment methodologies, organised and delivered by IRES, the partner responsible for the project’s comprehensive risk and safety evaluation across both manufacturing and operational phases.

The session targeted consortium members and, in particular, the Demo host partners, aiming to reinforce their understanding and practical application of key international standards in industrial safety. Participants were introduced to the latest OECD, EN and ISO frameworks, covering essential concepts such as hazard identification, exposure, mitigation measures, and Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) parameters, including noise, illuminance levels and thermal comfort.

The workshop followed a structured agenda combining theory and hands-on insights:

  • Introduction to the fundamentals of risk assessment

  • Overview of leading standards and methodologies

  • In-depth focus on Process Hazard Analysis, including What If and FMEA techniques

  • Assessment of IEQ parameters

  • Practical examples showcasing real-world implementation of health and safety standards

To encourage engagement and stimulate reflection, two anonymous polls were conducted at the beginning and end of the workshop. These interactive moments provided valuable input on participants’ familiarity with process hazard analysis and helped highlight areas requiring further attention.

This initiative reflects MEloDIZER’s commitment to embedding high safety standards and rigorous analytical approaches in the development of its innovative membrane technologies for water reuse.
