MEloDIZER School: Four Days of Innovation, Knowledge, and Collaboration in Sustainable Water Treatment

From April 7 to 10, 2025, the MEloDIZER School took place at Politecnico di Torino, bringing together PhD students and early-career researchers from across Europe for four intense and enriching days of training on membrane distillation, water reuse, and renewable energy integration.

The school offered a high-level scientific program that combined theoretical lectures, hands-on lab sessions, and data analysis workshops, all focused on the development and implementation of innovative desalination technologies.

Participants had the opportunity to learn directly from 15 internationally recognized experts representing top universities, research institutions, and industry — a lineup that significantly contributed to the exceptional scientific quality of the event. Topics ranged from the fundamentals of membrane and thermal-based desalination to pilot-scale implementation, system modeling, and energy-efficient module design.

The final day concluded with group presentations, where students shared the outcomes of their collaborative work, followed by a wrap-up session and certificate ceremony — marking the end of a unique experience grounded in research excellence, innovation, and international collaboration.

Thank you to all speakers, participants, and organizers who contributed to making the MEloDIZER School a true success! Stay tuned for more updates and future training opportunities.
