From June 3 to 4, 2025, the MEloDIZER consortium gathered in Cetraro, Italy for its 30-month General Assembly — a key milestone to assess the progress made so far and align on priorities for the final project phase.
Hosted by CNR-ITM, the meeting provided an opportunity for all partners to present technical advancements, coordinate upcoming pilot actions, and review communication, exploitation, and stakeholder engagement activities. The session also included updates on KPIs, upcoming deliverables, and discussions around long-term impact and market potential.
Right after the GA, MEloDIZER was featured in the prestigious International Conference on Membrane Distillation (MD2025) held in Cetraro from June 4 to 6. Several partners presented their research and results developed within the project, highlighting MEloDIZER’s contribution to the advancement of membrane technologies for water reuse and desalination.
Topics presented by the consortium included:
-
Direct Contact Membrane Distillation for industrial wastewater – Aamer Ali, Aalborg University
-
Crystals extraction with high-performing hollow fiber membranes – Francesca Macedonio, CNR
-
Air-Gap Membrane Distillation formalism & CFD simulations – Matteo Morciano & Alberto Tiraferri, Politecnico di Torino
-
PVDF coated membranes for enhanced MD performance – Mirko Frappa, CNR
These two events marked an important moment of scientific exchange, alignment, and visibility for the MEloDIZER project, strengthening its role in the European landscape of sustainable water treatment technologies.
Stay tuned for more updates as we enter the final and most impactful phase of the project!
