29 January 2026

On 26–27 January 2026, the MEloDIZER consortium gathered in Barcelona for the Review Meeting at Month 36, marking an important milestone three years after the start of the project.

The meeting was held in person at the Amapex venue and brought together project partners, the European Commission Project Officer, and the external reviewer, who actively participated in the discussions and assessment of the project’s progress. The review was a great success, confirming the solid technical, scientific, and managerial achievements reached during the second reporting period.

The first day was dedicated to internal preparation, allowing all Work Package leaders to present and discuss their contributions in an interactive session. This internal alignment ensured a coherent and well-structured presentation of results, challenges, and next steps ahead of the formal review.

On the second day, each Work Package Leader presented the objectives, activities, and key results achieved between Month 19 and Month 36, covering:

  • project management and coordination,
  • membrane fabrication, characterisation, and modelling,
  • design and manufacturing of demonstrators,
  • industrial and desalination pilot demonstrations,
  • environmental, social, and economic impacts,
  • dissemination, communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.

The Review Meeting concluded with positive feedback from the Project Officer and Expert Advisor, highlighting the maturity of the developed technologies and the strong integration between research, demonstration, and impact-oriented activities.

The event also included a technical visit to Demo #2 at Concentrol’s facilities in Girona, offering a direct view of the project’s progress towards real-world implementation.

This successful M36 Review Meeting confirms MEloDIZER’s strong trajectory towards delivering innovative, sustainable membrane distillation solutions aligned with European water, energy, and circular economy objectives.
