MEloDIZER has been featured in Orizzonti, the scientific magazine of Politecnico di Torino, in an article titled “Protecting Water: From Aquifers to Space”.
The piece highlights the breadth of water research carried out at Politecnico di Torino, spanning from the protection and management of underground aquifer systems to innovative water treatment technologies for extreme environments, including space exploration. MEloDIZER is presented as one of the flagship projects contributing to this research vision, thanks to its work on high-performance, sustainable membrane distillation for industrial water reuse and decentralised desalination.
The project is coordinated by Prof. Alberto Tiraferri and Prof. Matteo Fasano of Politecnico di Torino, who lead the scientific activities related to membrane development, system modelling, and prototype design within the MEloDIZER consortium.
This recognition from one of Europe’s leading technical universities reinforces MEloDIZER’s role as a key contributor to sustainable water management research and its relevance within the broader European and global water science community.
