From 13 to 15 October 2025, the EXBRINER Scientific Workshop is taking place at Aalborg University (Denmark), bringing together researchers, experts, and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements in membrane technologies for the sustainable exploitation of seawater brine resources.

The workshop, organised within the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network EXBRINER, focuses on next-generation membrane technologies and their role in supporting a circular blue industry. Over three days, participants will explore topics such as ion separation, membrane stability, desalination, minerals recovery, and innovation transfer from research to business.

As part of the program, MEloDIZER will contribute with a dedicated Training Session on “Integration of solar technologies with desalination”, led by:
🔹 Alberto Tiraferri – Politecnico di Torino
🔹 Nicolas Pierre – Politecnico di Torino
🔹 Aamer Ali – Aalborg University

The session will delve into how solar-powered membrane distillation systems can advance sustainable desalination and support energy-efficient water treatment solutions — a key goal shared between MEloDIZER and EXBRINER.

This collaboration highlights the strong synergies between European research initiatives working toward a resilient and resource-efficient water future.

📍 Venue: AAU Innovate, Aalborg University, Denmark
