The MEloDIZER Consortium recently convened for its M12 meeting at the PSA Plataforma Solar de Almeria (Ciemat), marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of sustainable water solutions. Hosted at one of the peripheral centers of CIEMAT, the meeting brought together project partners to delve into the latest advancements in membrane distillation technology.
During the meeting, the consortium delved into various aspects of the project, including fabrication and functionalization of membranes and modules, as well as modeling for membranes, modules, and systems. Presentations by experts such as Francesca Macedonio, Mirko Frappa, Olivier Lorain, Matteo Marciano, and Joachim Koschikowski shed light on key developments and future directions.
In addition to the rigorous discussions and presentations, consortium members had the opportunity to explore the labs and structures at the PSA Ciemat center. The center, recognized as a Large European Scientific Facility by the European Commission, boasts state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to concentrated solar thermal systems.
